The GSIR 2025 Submission Guide

Guide to submitting to the 2025 Global System Integrators Report (GSIR)

What is the GSIR?

The Global System Integrator Report (GSIR) is an annual media opportunity hosted by Control Engineering and Plant Engineering magazines. This report is a prime opportunity for system integrators to showcase their expertise, share case studies, and earn valuable backlinks to improve website authority and SEO. Our 2025 GSIR Submission Guide is a helpful reference and available below!

A common misconception is that the GSIR is connected to Control Engineering’s System Integrator of the Year award. While the System Integrator of the Year is announced in the same GSIR edition, this submission opportunity is distinct. Participating in the GSIR does not involve an award competition—it’s about sharing insights and best practices through published articles.

What is This Year’s Theme?

2025 Prompt

Navigating Challenges Using Automation and System Integration

“According to Control Engineering research, integrators will face challenges such as workforce shortages, tariffs, and economic uncertainty in the coming year. Integrators are encouraged to share how they’re tackling these obstacles through automation installations, upgrades, AI/machine learning applications, smart manufacturing, and control system optimization.”

Submission Opportunities

There are two ways to participate:

  • Submit a case study, tutorial, or trend article for possible inclusion in the GSIR feature articles.
  • Apply to be listed in the System Integrator Giants list, which ranks 100 system integrators by system integration revenue.

Article Guidelines

If you’re considering a submission, here are the updated guidelines:

Length: 600 to 6,000 words (Microsoft Word or RTF file).

Format:

  • Engineering content, quantifications, and examples must be tutorial in nature—tell, don’t sell!
  • Avoid vendor/supplier mentions in the body (okay in image captions).
  • Include three learning objectives (3-sentence summary of what readers will learn).
  • One non-tracking URL to the source, author name, title, company, short bio, and author image.

Images & Graphics:

  • Submit original, high-resolution images (300 dpi) as separate files (.jpg, .tif, .eps).
  • No stock or third-party images allowed.
  • Image file names should include your company name.
  • Images considered for the magazine cover should be up to 9×11 inches.

Approvals: Secure final approvals before submission.

Exclusivity: Articles should not be used by or submitted to other publications. A six-month exclusive applies as outlined in the Control Engineering Author Agreement.

Submission Deadline: Monday, July 21, 2025.

Important Note: While publication in the GSIR is not guaranteed, CFE Media will work with you to place your article in another relevant edition if it doesn’t make the GSIR cut.
